I have to respectfully disagree with Basim Sabri. Because the meeting was so
poorly handled by the chair, because so few people were there, because not enough
time was allotted for Q & A, because this decision was in opposition to the NRP
Plan, it will require a larger meeting, more representative of the 8,100 plus
members of the Central Neighborhood. The vote tonight was a committee vote, and
the vote was to allow a zoning change from C-1 to C-3 for the site on Second Av.
Allowing the zoning change only allows the notion of hotel to be entertained.
It's not the final hoo-rah yet.
