Has anyone ever noticed how people barrell through parking lots here too? At
any moment, a stroller or cart or kid can bolt out from between cars.
There's been many times where I've almost been mowed down by people flying
through the parking aisles at nearly 30 mph for fear they won't get that
deal on mandarin oranges!!
It's frightening.
On a humbler note, I was on the west bank on Cedar Ave one day where I
witnessed a visually impaired person with his seeing eye dog in the middle
of Cedar. They both apparently had gotten turned around and were confused.
They made it to the curb but not before I was blubbering like I'd just seen
an Old Yeller re-run. Seeing that makes me feel lucky I can at least SEE the
train coming, but it was one of the saddest moments. I've often wondered how
they do it. They certainly have more intestinal fortitude than I, which sort
of makes me embarassed that I'm so grumpy about these things.
Sort of puts it all in perspective anyway.
