i have been against the new street lights from the
beginning. sure they look great. for $1200 a piece
(or whatever the increased cost currently runs), they
oughta. twice my neighborhood -the wedge- has sent
the petitions around, twice i've voted against them.
but i know darn straight that they will continue to
pass around the petition every year until relent. can
we convince them that 'no means no?' some argue that
in our high-rent neighborhood, we can pass the expense
to our renters. nice gig if you can get it, but
homeowners have to eat it themselves. to me it's just
another example of mpls short sightedness-maybe they
should've taken a page from st. paul and not yanked
out the originals years ago. and has anyone but
myself noticed how STUPID the ones on hennepin look?
it looks like freaking broadway with all those lights.
they could've easily used every other one and thrown
the extras to the neighborhood. nice design job.
