I would just like to say thank you to all the list members who kept those of
us who didn't attend the DFL City Convention on Saturday up to date.
Certainly there were surprises. Usually the DFL casts out anyone who says
he/she will not abide by the endorsement and there was RT leading on the last
ballot taken.
Could someone enlighten me about what happened to two incumbent Park Board
members - Bob Fine and Scott Neiman?
I'd also like to thank List Manager, David Brauer, for his efforts to effect
the needed change in the city election process. I'm not a fan of the caucus
system, but if we are going to have one, the idea of having caucuses in the
year of a city election makes a great deal of sense.
Also thanks to Lynell for heralding the Minneapolis Issues Forum. Could it
indeed become a force for change? I certainly hope so. I have heard some
elected leaders speak despairingly about the Forum and I suspect that masked
some real fear about its power.
