I, too, have seen plain clothes policemen in the parking lot of the Ford plant
nabbing speeders as they cross the Ford Bridge (46th St) into St. Paul. Would
that the Mpls. police occasionally imitate this practice across the river and
also on the Lake St. (Marshall) Bridge. We should all be obeying posted speed
limits and not letting our attention drift or our foot sink just because of that
nice, open concrete span beckoning, . . . BTW, a regular police speed trap is
the 10th Avenue Bridge northbound from the University's west bank towards
southeast. The speed limit there is 30 mph and it seems ridiculously slow, but
trust me, it is rigourously enforced, and the curve of the bridge makes a
marvelous hiding place for a police car that can't be seen until it is too late.
;) A word to the wise -- drive safely, and may luck be riding shotgun for us
all!
