[TB] Incumbents generally win reelection bids. When an incumbent fails to
get the endorsement of his or her own party in a bid for reelection that is
news. That his opponents did such a good job of minimizing expectations
doesn't make it any less news. Problem is no one else got the endorsement
either.
The picture? By this time probably everyone who cares knows what the Mayor
looks like. If only one person is to be pictured it seems it should be one
of the challengers, they are the lesser knowns.
I didn't read the "sour grapes" into the comments. Could it be that we are
being told that as a former journalist Rybak should understand how the media
works?
What I find somewhat curious is the comments about Rybak talking with an
organization he covered as a reporter about a job while a reporter at the
Strib. Is it relevant 15 years later? Does it say something about his
ethics? I suspect different participants on this list will reach different
conclusions. However, if Rybak is going to be a candidate for public office
he needs to be prepared for everything in his past to come out. He should
be thankful that this has come out now rather than a few days before the
election, in mid-May few people are paying any attention anyway.
