Did anyone else catch the channel 9 news at 10 pm last night? There were
some great quotes where Basim Sabri told the reporter that neighborhood
organizations are a joke and run by idiots.

Then Basim turned around and ran for the CNIA board that he resigned from
last year citing conflict of interest. But he resigned only after electing
a board chair/president who would bend to his will.

Do you suppose this year will be any different? Feels a bit like deja vu.

Will CNIA be any better off after two years of Basim's direction than it is
after one?

**For those of you encountering any individual developer who wants to
control the neighborhood process: stay organized and fight. Based on this
past year's experience in Central, I'd say: once you've lost and the
developer moves in to control the process, it seems impossible to recover a
functioning organization which follows a fair, democratic process.**

The ballot last night had one slate of candidates printed in before the
ballots were handed out. When the format was contested, the president
screamed into a microphone in a gymnasium full of chattering people. He
mis-stated the motion to set aside the pre-printed ballots in favor of blank
ballots by stating: "For those who think the ballot is bogus, go to this
side of the gym." What a way to divide a neighborhood!

So much for building community.
