What happened to the political theory that "one should not propose to raise taxes in an election year?" Back to the debate about a citizen representation on the MCDA Board of Commissioners that is not totally made up of City Councilmembers. I didn't live here or was not interested in politics (much) but wasn't Jackie Cherryhomes a citizen rep on the MCDA Board of Commisioners when it was a body similar to the Planning Commission. Any history on this and other issues about MCDA decision-making structure ala more than 20 years ago (lessons to be learned) ...? It seems like time to ask about an evaluation of the Community Development agency , its priorities and how it really represents all the citizens of Minneapolis and how and what is the infrastructure of who decides what about Development projects. The old when, where, why and how come? Seems that as an example - many people on this list serve (which is a microcosm of some larger beast) are not happy with the best use on our taxpaying dollars on Minneapolis Community Development PROJECTS. Instead of just beating up and beating up on the agency and Council let's figure out a way to make change and move to a win-win situation. And isn't that what elections are really about - seems like poor timing to me to ask for more money - but what the heck do I know...
