I ride from accumulation to accumulation that being, rain, snow, sleet, and a
strange new mix of road pollution and anything that will stick to it. Beth is so
right about bike lanes and I have commented about them in the past. The lane
that goes past the Walker and the exit from 94 just stops before the on ramp.
Was there a point to this? I don't rant about this because I know that generally
no one cares and any type of bike lane should be hailed as the 10th wonder of
the world never to be questioned. As someone that rides everywhere. I don't need
to ride on freeways but I would like to cross them. Every single one of them.
We really need to address dead end bike lanes.
Any serious plan for bike commuting would involve year round commuting.
A fraction would only be able to do this, but the numbers are growing, I've
talked with people and it goes up and down, but steadily it has been growing.
This will be my 10th winter of riding and I have learned to dress for it, to
stay warm and dry and comfortable and safe. Bike lanes should be cleared of snow
and should not be used as turning lanes.
They should not be used as passing lanes for taxi's, police, or delivery trucks.
Hello!
I just think I'm not riding in -70 wind chills like I did in the winter of '94
when I was a messenger. So it's all relative.
I checked out the official reason for taking bikes off of the mall, it was to
promote safe cycling. What could be a bigger lie?
Feel free to let the #$%^ flow, but I'm not buying.Nicollet mall is alot safer
than Marquette or Second, which have buses on it and oh half of the cities car
traffic.
Back to the real world where we drill for oil and drive cars until we are sick
and dying and nothing grows any longer.
Where what they meant by parks was short for parking lots.
Concerning light rail, the commuter line from St. Cloud and people living near
where they work.
These are all things that will help, this is the future of saving our natural
and mental environment.
These things need to be thought out and decisions should be arrived at through
consensus. I thought light rail going down 35w made sense, just behind going
from downtown to downtown. But what do I know about economics, er I mean
transportation.
So anyhow waiting, watching, wondering, what you will do.....
But mostly organizing.
