[Mpls] question about Jon Olson

In the last digest was this comment about the District2 park board endorsing convention:   "This may be a tad naive, but why is labor backing a non-DFL candidate like Mr. Olson?  I thought the DFL was the "Democrat Farm & Labor" Party and that Labor participated?  Is this common practice, or something new? Jon owns the Dairy Queen on Lyndale Ave North and has been active in his neighbhood as well.   He sought the at-large endorsement of the DFL at the May convention and then decided to run for the District 2 seat when it opened.   Linda Higgins North Mpls
