As an active DFL’er and progeny of DFL delegates:

Will Jon Olson abide by the DFL Endorsement process this time if he does not receive endorsement for District 2?

And, philosophically, can one still be considered an active DFL’er and/or a delegate if one does not abide by the Party rules?

Subject: [Mpls] question about Jon Olson

Jon Olson is an active DFLer in North Mpls. He, his wife, and his parents have all been DFL delegates for many years. Jon owns the Dairy Queen on Lyndale Ave North and has been active in his neighbhood as well.

He sought the at-large endorsement of the DFL at the May convention and then decided to run for the District 2 seat when it opened.

At the DFL convention, Rochelle was endorsed for an at-large seat however, Jon
Olson placed last among the assortment of candidate's. And although he had
stated that he would not run against the DFL endorsed candidate he appeared
at the May Day Parade and Festival saying that he had reconsidered and was
going to stay in the race.
