Members of this list involved in neighborhood and community development may be interested in a conference July 22-25 in Duluth: The Times They are A-Changing: Working Partnerships for Viable Communities, the Joint International Summit on Community and Rural Development. It does have a focus on rural issues across the U.S., but: -- many of the issues of urban community development are either similar to or mirrored in rural areas. --there are lessons to be learned and alliances to be built. I know this list is designed to discuss issues in Minneapolis, but I'd justify this post by suggesting that sometimes a look at similar issues from a different perspective is worthwhile.
