Well, we may never have put up a statue to Nellie Stone Johnson but tonight I was out on the campaign trail going from place to place I was listening to the School Board meeting just at the time they named a school after Nellie - and the speeches from city, state and labor leaders were wonderful. I had to get out of my car before I heard Nellie speak. A school is probably just as exciting as a statue and certainly a much more educational opportunity for the youth of our city. Since I am one of the few wonders of the world that does not own a television (and hasn't since I left married life many moons ago) I don't quite get the infatuation with Mary Tyler Moore although the reruns I've seen are kind of zany, cute - warranting a statue, hmmm! Speaking of the School Board what did they do on the Pop issue?
