The newly revised 2001 Twin Cities Bicycle Map & Commuter Guide shows the best routes
for bicycling around Minneapolis and the metro area. There is a story about the map in
the Star Tribune today (June 29) in Sports, page C-15.

The map includes every street in the central cities and some surrounding suburbs. The
best routes were rated by volunteers from the Twin Cities Bicycling Club
(www.biketcbc.org) to help riders make smart connections getting into or across town.

The map is available for $4 (or $6 mailed) at the Metropolitan Council Data Center,
230 E. 5th Street, St. Paul, MN, 55101-1633. For information, contact the Council at
651-602-1140, via email, [EMAIL PROTECTED] or via internet,
www.metrocouncil.org. Many area bike shops are also selling the map.

The map also features enlarged street maps of downtown Minneapolis, St. Paul and the
University of Minnesota. Other features include on-street bike lanes and off-street
trails, safe riding tips, local bike events, bike resources on the internet and
information about bike lockers and bus bike racks. Geared toward bike commuters, the
map is also a great tool for recreational riders.
