To all of you who are involved in your neighborhoods, thank you for your commitment. Over the past 10 years hundreds of thousands of hours have been committed to making Minneapolis' neighborhoods safe, affordable and livable. Much of this work has been done through the Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP). Unfortuently changes in the Minnesota Tax Code have had a dramatic impact on how TIFF dollars can be spent. Since TIFF was the source of funding for the NRP, many people are very concerned about the survival of this vital program. Organizing has already started. All over the city committed residents are getting together to build public support, exert political pressure, and explore diverse funding options. We want you to join these efforts. Come explore all the great work that is happening, announce the efforts you are involved with, and help ensure this vital community resource strives! Please go to www.communityzero.com/saveNRP to be part of this effort. "Honoring the City's Community Commitment" (HC3) is an independent web community for the formal and informal groups of residents working together to ensure that the City of Minneapolis maintains it's commitment to fully funding the Neighborhood Revitalization Program (NRP). In an quickly changing environment, accessing good information, learning about meetings, and ensuring your neighborhoods voice is heard is critical. This web community will allow people with different perspectives, backgrounds, strategies and goals to work together to ensure the long term health of Minneapolis' neighborhood-based community commitment. The site is www.communityzero.com/saveNRP, and after a brief sign in you will be able to share thoughts, participate in conversations, post critical information, see upcomming meetings and share whatever you know about this critical community challenge.
