Regarding the StarTribune article where Mark Stenglein was quoted as saying
he would have the streets swept twice a month. Unfortunately it was a
misquote. What he really said is he wants to have the streets swept once a
month, rather than twice a year as it is being done now.

I have seen some parts of our great city where there is garbage laying in
the streets, sidewalks and yards by the tons. It makes me very sad to see a
city with the great resources such as parks and lakes covered in trash that
is needlessly thrown around by people who don't care. We must get after
these people, and clean up the garbage. We need the leadership of a mayor
who will recognize the beauty that is Minneapolis, and restore it to it's
grandeur.

The city budget would be able to handle sweeping the city streets once a
month if the city budget is focused on the things that a city budget should
be focused on.
