I too was at the Lavender protest today. I took my
lunch break and ran down there.

When I heard the various stories about mistreatment of
employees, it reminded me of the stuff that used to go
on in the 60's and 70's when office workers were
trying to organize, or for that matter when women
begin filing charges about sexual harrassment in the
work place. Today it sounded like not much has
changed. I thought that was unfortunate. I was very
moved by the show of support from the Communication
Workers of America union people and from the local
press organizations (especially the notables from the
Strib) There were two bus loads of people that came
from all over the U.S. I even saw a guy from Windsor
Ontario there. It was a nice show of support.

I was honored to welcome all of these people to my
neighborhood. A neighborhood that prides itself on
it's diversity and acceptance of alternative
lifestyles.

I am saddened that the management of Lavender would
behave so oppressively toward their employees.
Putting black paper up on the windows so employees
can't see outside is a despicable act.
