One need only look to the Minneapolis mayoral race.
This is the most racist campaign in the history of the city.
Thus,Lucky' campaign against "White Supremacy" is a welcome change.

Everybody seems to be ignoring this jerk, I know I should but, I feel when people make statements like the one above, it weakens the true and overt examples we have witnessed of racism. MA shuold probably give some examples of White Supremacy that's been expressed in this race, minus the guy from the White Working Man's Party.
Some would even charge that the Party that Lucky is running under has turned a deaf ear to some civil rights issues right here in our state such as racial profiling, although Lucky himself has stood for civil rights and those issues.
No doubt race has been an issue in the Mayoral race but, to say that it's the most racist in the history of the city is really stretching things beyond the truth. I assume that MA is young - very young. I would encourage him to speak with some of our elders and he'll get some truth real quick. Heck, he could even talk to the Mayor after she comes through (on top) the primary tomorrow. She can fill you in on how it was in '97, '93 or '73.
In 1973, the Minneapolis DFL endorsed Harry Davis for Mayor. Harry Davis was an African- American member of the Minneapolis School Board and active in local politics. The first African American endorsed for the top job in Minneapolis. How racist was it then for a person of color running for office?
Harry's family had FBI protection and his kids were escorted to school by agents because not a day passed when he didn't recieve a threat detailing how 'they' were going to kill his wife and kids and where. There were people waiting outdoors on corners to call him the worst names as he drove to work. Bomb threats weekly, physical resistance to him campaigning in Northeast Mpls - until the day former VP HHH walked with him. Federal agents everywhere to protect a man that simply ran for office. Harry lost to one of the last Republican to be Mayor of our city. The list of overt racist and terrorists activities that took place were too long for me to remember (I've heard him and other people talk about this - I was too young to know anything outside of mama, dada, baba and no), I'm sure you get the point.
Oh by the way, the Mayor would know this because as a college student, she was one of the Davis Campaign volunteers. If anyone else remembers this race, feel free to add your memories.
