The quotes from Rick Aguilar and Mr. Latimer in this
piece do a pretty good job of showing the two parties
divergent view of diversity.
DFL - we all look different.
GOP - we all think different.

Last week seventeen black Democrat state reps voted
for the Republican redistricting plan that passed out
of the Florida House. They wanted some districts that
were more than 35% black, and the GOP plan gave them
that. The Florida GOP plan will result in more racial
diversity in the legislature. Ditto for the Minnesota
GOP plan.

How will this work out in the metro area in the next
decade? Will the DFL find some way to hide their
animosity for small business from the Hispanic, Hmong
and Somali entrepreneurs? Will entrepreneurs
regardless of race continue their exodus to the burbs
where the rest of the small businesses (and
Republicans) are?

Interesting that a candidate for Minneapolis City
Council is so promienently quoted in an article about
the St. paul Mayor's race.
