I checked my facts (first-hand) before my last post, and I know for a fact that
Senator Wellstone has not -- repeat, has not -- endorsed Sharon Sayles Belton. My
understanding, second-hand, is that the Belton website has now been revised, although
I see that the Wellstone quote still comes up when the "Endorsement" button is
clicked.

The question now is whether the false claim of endorsement has been used in GOTV
calls. If so, the offending campaign should disclose the number of calls with that
script, make remedial calls, and issue a public disclaimer. If this race is close, it
would be unfortunate if victory were secured through a misrepresentation. A
last-minute, false claim of an endorsement from our senior senator is not a minor
matter.
