I'd like to echo Eva Young's thanks to Shirley Carlson for
running as a Republican for 10th Ward City Council. Shirley is a gracious
and thoughtful person -- the very sort of candidate our city needs to
resurrect the Minneapolis Republican party. I'd also like to thank Mark
Knapp for raising the issues he did and bring the concerns of renters into the
debates.
I think our city would be much healthier, I think the DFL
would be healthier, if there was a credible opposition party or parties. I
hope to see more candidates from the Republican and Green parties.
