I can't agree with Mr. Lohman any more and his sentiment was basically the
genesis behind me starting this thread.
Mr. Abbott can claim he brokered a deal on the Boulevard project but the
fact is that the developers talked with hundreds of people about this
project both at neighborhood meetings and in private (including, for sake of
disclosure, myself). I have a feeling that the overwhelming sentiment from
those discussions was that the project needed to be contained only to the
building and, if possible, that additional parking was needed.
I find it extremely doubtful that it was Mr. Abbott's insight that finally
made the developers come up with their revised plan. For him to puff up his
role in this project, especially after pouring fuel on the flame of the
opposition, makes me concerned about what kind of Councilmember he would be.
