I, too, must throw in with the mayor regarding the use of 911. I think that when it's
publicized that Muslims will be calling the police rather than some special "task
force" number or whatever, this could be a real deterrent to those cretins who want to
use our nation's tragedy as an excuse to unleash their violence upon fellow Americans.
It also underscores that these actions are crimes and the people who commit them
criminals.
I also think that the mayor should encourage any victims to contact the Southern
Poverty Law Center. This organization is an invaluable resource for dealing with hate
crimes.
