Dean and List, I have advocated for some time that there is really only one viable use for the property and the buildings-that of a Interpretive/Information and classroom center. The area is so very rich in history and that a educational complex would be quite fitting. The area is the joining of three very important historical themes-Minnehaha Falls, Ft. Snelling, and the Minnesota River Valley all with Camp Coldwater in the core. The various local colleges could have classrooms there for classes and seminars and workshop space for historical and archealogical disciplines. Public tours could originate there. Currently these various historical areas are not tied together into any meaninfull historical relationship-they are just "pieces of parks". An Interpretive Center would tie the area together into a meaningful historical relationship. It would also eliminate-once and for all, any threat of commerial development to the Camp Coldwater area.
Dean and List Members-there is only one solution. Current political candidates and office holders-this should be on your political agenda.
