This is an excellent idea and one I also have, and will continue to, champion. Several people brought this idea forward in the past, even as we were struggling to save more of the historic and undeveloped area before the 55 reroute. Bringing this land under the DNR and/or converting it to a state or, perhaps, a state/county/city partnership park seems to offer the most promise. Perhaps it could even house a charter school.
