I heard it with my own ears at a candidate forum at Phelps Park Community Center - Vicki Brock clearly supported the Target subsidy. She stated in response to a question about this issue that the city government should make it possible for her to be able to go downtown to go shopping and see a movie (presumably a suggestion of support for the Block E subsidy). I'll bet that most 8th ward residents (and ward 6 and 9 residents) would much rather be able to go to the Sears site to go shopping. Unfortunately, Vicky Brock's response to the a question about the Sears site was to tout the tenancy by MDI as a real big accomlishment.
