Good Morning Mpls Issues!
I'm guessing that most of you know about this service from Minnegasco but considering the weather you may want to suggest it to a friend or neighbor if you have already done this. I just had the two hour full blown energy audit with the thermal camera and learned a great deal about my drafty old house on 32nd and Nicollet. It's a $65 charge on your gas bill and well worth it, my auditor Tom gave me a top eleven list to strategize my winterization. So I'm off to buy 4-6 cases of calk along with all the other fun winterization products that I will be playing with after November 6th. There is a $25 home audit service but I don't know what it entails. I would highly recommend doing this if you haven't, they don't try and sell you anything they just bury you in helpful information.
For those who are first time homeowners like me or novices to the winterization game I will share one little tidbit. Sealing your house for leaks is far more important than insulating, if you have to choose one over the other, choose caulk. My house is literally a sieve and I'm sure many of you with old houses are in the same boat.
Stay Warm!
