On a lighter note : MINNEAPOLIS CITY HALL TO HOST THIRD ANNUAL SPOOKTACULAR ON FRIDAY Free public event for kids and families
MINNEAPOLIS, MN (Thursday, October 25, 2001) The Minneapolis City Hall and Courthouse will play host to the Third Annual Halloween Spooktacular on Friday, October 26 between 5 and 8 p.m. Guests can wander through "haunted" halls staffed by costumed volunteers, and sneak-a-peek at the historic City Council Chambers renovation. Activities will include a costume contest to be judged by Mayor Sharon Sayles Belton, magic shows, canine and horse patrols, fire engine rides (weather permitting) and face painting. Spooktacular is a free public event for kids and families. Spooktacular began as a way to build public awareness about free public tours of the historic Minneapolis City Hall and is sponsored by the Minneapolis Building Commission (MBC) and the Minneapolis Youth Coordinating Board's What's Up Youth Info Line. Call the MBC Tour and Event Information Line at 612/673-5301 for more details about Spooktacular and regular building tours.
