WHO WILL RAISE OUR NORTHSIDE LOVECHILD?", topic by Keith Reitman cautions,
don't kill it to cure it., February 07, 2001 12:46 am CST
"A long time ago two people met in the hood. He a real estate man who
appeared to be a greedy and narrow minded speculator and she a politico who
seemed dogmatic, a tyrant and autocrat. They both being powerful gods, and
this an allegory (myth), by their meeting there was begot an offspring and he
was given the name West. In full, West Broadway, and he became known far and
wide throughout the County as very wayward. When people said his name their
eyes always rolled up to heaven for this little bastard had been neglected
and it always showed in his behavior on the Avenue. In fact, neglected for as
long as everyone could remember, everyone except the TIMELESS KEEPER OF THE
MEMORIES (Donny the Baker) who said that once West Broadway was actually good
and well behaved but that was really long ago. To continue, West Bro was now
quite old and hobbled. It appeared as if the politician had poked his eyes
out and the real estate guy kept picking his pocket. He drank too much and
any money left went for drugs. As often as arrests were made, Inspector Dolan
of the 4th precinct alone could not reform West Bro. We don't know the
outcome yet of this "compelling fiction" but we are hopeful that, for the
good of the child/old guy, those who care and have some means will at least
communicate more freely amongst each other to problem solve now that West Bro
is in treatment. FOR THE SAKE OF THE CHILD. "

"It seems that Keith Reitman will try or say anything at least once to help
the West Broadway community. He needs your help. Please give it to him.
