It was mostly musings in the hope that someone might have some answers. > Many of us are irritated with being put on the spot to answer > questions our elected officials should be answering and vindicating > promises they should be honoring. Who put you on the spot? Am I not allowed to ask questions related to your postings? If that irritates you, consider not posting. > To your second comment that "Placing a park at the Riverview site will > not necessarily make the site more accessible, however, as the freeway > and surrounding industry will still be there." How will it not be > accessible? I was just out at the site a week ago this past Saturday. How do your statements in this posting correlate to a previous statement of yours: "that are virtually cut off from the river by Interstate 94"? Is the site accessible or not? I questioned whether or not the river will be MORE accessible, not about it being accessible, per se. Like you, I can get to the river easily enough, I drive past that part of the river on a daily basis. When I want, I stop and relax by the river. I do not see how a park there will change the situation for me as I still have to cross the freeway and all the rest of the river is still inaccessible due to industry. With the current proposal by JADT, there will be a park. How long must we wait for a park if we wait for the city to act? With the JADT proposal, it could be argued that the river would be made more accessible. Can we say that if we wait for the city to act? Why didn't the city act? From what I read in the NorthNews yesterday, the site was on the market for 6 months before Tom Baylor acted on it. (Hint: I am not expecting you, Candy, to answer these questions.)
