As someone who remembers Wizard's posts regarding the 9/11 tragedy and its aftermath, I was a bit surprised at the allegation that she was joking about it the next day. So I looked into the archives and read Wizard's posts from the days following. In one, she responded to a query of airplanes flying overhead by suggesting that troops were being sent to Madagascar. Hmmmm....it's quite a stretch to take that comment as "joking" about the tragic events. In her other posts she gives some excellent, thought-provoking insight into how Minneapolites (is that what we're called?) are reacting to the attacks.
Yes, the world was in shock. To claim that Wizard wasn't on the basis of this flimsy "evidence" and then tout this as a reason not to vote for her, well, that's just plain hooey. I have to ask, Wendell, if it was such a big deal to you, why are you waiting till now to bring it up?
I have to agree with Eva...this smells like an anonymous smear campaign. It stikes me as odd that a new member would sift through the vast archive list to find one little post to use against Wizard, and that this person would suddenly materialize just before the election to bring up something that happened almost two months ago.
Well, if Wendell Sunshine isn't a real person, you'd better take this smear campaign elsewhere. This list is about people who have the guts to stand behind, and put their names on, their opinions. I know Wizard Marks does. Do you, Wendell?
And if you, or anyone else considering an anomymous post, have any doubts about the integrity of the list, you should be aware that Eva and Wizard are two of the most heated debaters, yet Eva was the first to point out that someone might be taking an unfair shot at Wizard. Bottom line, there are some lines that good honest list members will never cross. And be warned, we will bust you!
