Thank you to Eva, Karen, Wizard, and Eric for your remarks. First off I must admitt that there were some mistakes in my last statment, which was sent out very late and on little sleep.
Yes, Stonewall DFL Endorsed Brian Heron back in February, becouse he was the most qualified person for the job. While I was not present for the 8th wd. screening (I was conducting a screeing in another room), the statment that I recived from other board members was that Robert was not ready at this time! After Brian resigned Stonewall DFL did hold another screening for the two DFL's on the ballot (Vicki Brock and Robert Lilligren). During the screening I personally got the impression that Vicki new more to do the job, but lacked the public speaking experience (the fact that she did not know the defination of homophobia did not matter to me). I did know during the screening that there was probably not going to be an Endorsement! And when Rick Stafford made his motion (as I have stated before I did not know about this untill just before he made it), that we find both candidates acceptable and that the board was fobidden in giving an Endorsement untill after the Primary. While I do not know exatly why Rick made this motion I guess it had to do with the fact that Vicki had only been in the race a short period of time and Robert had been campaining since January (he made an apperance at our General Meeting, if I remember correctly), as well as that he had ran against a DFL Endorsed candidate (Heron). After the Primary neither of the candidates came back to ask about the Endorsement as well as they did not go for the DFL Endorsement. To Eric's and others comments about Megan Thomas, Stonewall DFL Chair. Her comments are her own and I will make any further statement to them. Eric (and other) may not want to belive this, but Belton, Heron, Campbell, and Cheryhomes were some of GLBT's (and Stonewall's) biggest supporters. Also I do not belive Stonewall DFL has lost its touch with the LGBT community.
