Downtown Council's Grabarski: "At the state capitol, we will have to put our political capital on the line to help him succeed in the city. The state capitol doesn't give mayors from the central cities an automatic welcome."
No it doesn't. We found out last legislative session what the capitol thinks of the central cities. Did Grabarski and pals decline to use their political capital even for their own tame elected official, or is their political capital not as valuable as they want us to believe? Maybe this is a naive question, but who exactly is the Downtown Council? Its officers believe they have a right to control our democratic processes. How are these people chosen?
