To answer Lynnell's question, the Monte is a venerable watering hole/eatery in the Warehouse District...nice joint, though I think the non-smoking objections should be heeded. Wasn't our last gathering in the oh-so-smoky Viking? At the very least, we should alternate.
However, Craig mentioned the Monte's back room...perhaps we could agree that the back room would be non-smoking? Brandon is also right that the price point is higher than most places. How about these for ground rules? 1. A place that's non-smoking or a room where we would be non-smoking 2. A place where alcohol is served but where there are lots of options for non-drinkers 3. A place where we can hang for a few hours at night so people can either eat or come after dinner. 4. A price-point where entrees/sandwiches are generally under $10, appetizers under $5. I think the list traffic may get a bit high on this one, so if people will email me their feelings directly (just hit reply, don't address to the list), I'll synthesize them and re-post to the list. Also, email me suggestions directly (again, just hit reply), and I'll post those too. For now, the Monte is the only nominee. Others will be accepted, though.
