Met Council released the award list for the Livable Community
Demonstration Act (LCDA) grant requests. The Strib has a brief mention
of it:

http://www.startribune.com/stories/462/893978.html

LCDA grants involves money the city requests from Met Council for
specific projects. From the Met Council's web site, the Minneapolis
awardees with the amount awarded and the amount they requested were:

Franklin-Portland Gateway: Requested $500,00/Awarded: $500,000. This
is a big housing/commercial project for the four corners of Franklin and
Portland in Phillips (and described briefly in the last issue of North
Phillips Press). Interestingly, this was rated a "medium priority
project" by the city.

Franklin Avenue LRT: Requested $750,000/Awarded $288,750 to help
develop vacant and underutilized railroad property around the Franklin
LRT station.

Hiawatha LRT: Requested $300,000/Awarded $247,500. Described in the
Met Council release as "to help build Downtown East LRT station in a way
that is pedestrian friendly and connected to adjacent development."

Carriage Houses: Requested $600,000/Awarded $100,000. I assume this is
the Ventura Village Carriage House Grant Program, which requested LCDA
funds (though the location for the Carriage Houses is not mentioned in
the LCDA announcement).

Many Rivers Project: Requested: $400,000/Awarded $200,000. This is a
76 unit development on Franklin Avenue between 14th and 15th Avenue
(again mentioned in the last issue of North Phillips Press)

Near Northside Redevelopment: Requested $1.5 million/Awarded $1.5
million. I assume this is part of the Hollman redevelopment but correct
me if I am wrong.

It looks like the following projects, which were submitted by
Minneapolis, were zero'd out:

East Franklin Public Plaza: Requested $500,000
Bloomington Avenue-Lake Street development: Requested $500,000
East End Revival (not sure what this is): Requested $1 million
Historic Mills District Parcel C Redevelopment: Requested $500,000
Lake and Nicollet Commons: Requested $1.5 million
Village in Phillips (development at 24th and Bloomington): Requested
$600,000

Congrats to those obtaining grants.
