Bill introduced himself to me at the 1992 DFL
convention. I was impressed by the gesture. I was
sitting alone, and a lone delegate isn't as valuable
to a candidate as a gaggle of delegates is. But he
took the time to introduce himself, and talk
one-on-one about his beliefs. So I can understand that
he finds working with kids one-on-one more rewarding
than policy work.

I think part of the confusion about the NAACP suit
stems from the mistaken impression that all African
Americans think alike. Just like Newt Gingrich or
Rush Limbaugh doesn't speak for all whites, Leola
Seals doesn't speak for all African Americans. The
same goes for the Hollman suit. Aitkin County? Hell,
that's near where I live. I can't imagine many people
choosing to live out here.
