Having served on the school board with Bill Green for the past 2 years, I can honestly say that he added a great deal of intellectual and strategic insight into board deliberations and decisionmaking. The public didn't always hear from Bill at board meetings, but that was because he is not the kind of person who seeks the limelight. I will miss his insights and presence on the board.
For the record, Bill is a college history professor who has published extensively on civil rights history in Minnesota. He is not a teacher in the Minneapolis Public Schools.
