Greetings!

Last week Lynnell Mickelson wrote about the amazing skating on Lake
Harriet. Then today Annie warned us about Lake Harriet and safety. (See below)

I am writing to invite you to a magic Mpls-Issues activity. Since last
Thursday when the Warming Room at the Lake Harriet Bandstand opened,
I've been skating on Lake Harriet, all of Lake Harriet. I've got over
ten hours in during the past four days. I have traversed the lake north
to south and east to west dozens of times. It is safe. The thinnest ice
is well over six inches thick (4" is for walking or skating.) Most
places the ice is ten - fourteen inches.

With this all in mind the magic of skating all over Lake Harriet only
comes along every ten or fifteen years and then it does not always last
this long.

Join me and other skaters at Lake Harriet. If you like to ice skate you
will be glad you tried Lake Harriet this winter!

Erik
