The meeting chair generously allowed any DFL members in attendence to
speak. For instance, Paul Ostrow spoke though he is not a Central
Committee member.

Brian, as a DFLer, was given the opportunity to speak. When he spoke he
indicated that he was reporting/representing a position taken by the
Building Trades and the Teamsters on the resolution being discussed.

BTW, I should note that the following Council Members were in
attendence: Paul Ostrow, Barb Johnson, Lisa Goodman, Paul Zerby, Scott
Benson, and Dan Niziolek. (I'm pretty sure DN was there, and I don't
think there were others.) Ironic that many of the CM's in attendence
that evening then voted in disagreement with the Central Committee's
resolution on Jan. 2.)

Finally, on a related topic, here are the number of votes that each of
the winning CM's got in their elections to represent the citizens of
their wards:

Ward Votes Percent Council Member
1 4,123 61.76 PAUL OSTROW

Some members were lucky in their opponents :-) but still it suggests
that some top vote-getters didn't win comparable respect and support
from their fellow Council Members when it came time to organize the
Council. You might say that 6,363 Ward 7 voters and 5,778 Ward 13
voters were disrespected by the Council.
