Each week HousingLink puts out a Private Market Vacancy Report that lists vacancies
and rents for various counties. Though it is certainly not a scientific sample, this
week's Hennepin County report has the following listed (I only list those that report
monthly rents--the ones not reporting rental rates are negligible):

Studios: 94 listings * Avg. Rent: $547 * Median: $535

1 BR: 342 listings * Avg. Rent: $666 * Median: $656

2 BR: 270 listings * Avg. Rent: $839 * Median: $835

3 BR: 69 listings * Avg. Rent: $1,182 * Median: $1,200

4 BR: 11 listings * Avg. Rent: $1,445 * Median: $1,495

5 BR: 4 listings * Avg. Rent: $1,513 * Median: $1,550

These come from all of Hennepin County, though the majority are from Minneapolis. As
is typical, we are top heavy in the 1-2 bedroom units and have very very little
available for larger units. Keep in mind that Minneapolis has 14,000 rental units
licensed.
