I will give a stab at a report since I was there because the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District was one of the sponsors.
The conference was over run with enthusiastic neighborhood activists eager for more knowledge. I saw Council Members Robert Lilligren, Dean Zimmerman, and Paul Zerby--others may have been there as well but lost in the crowd of about 300 folks. The workshops were inspirational presentations by various neighborhood groups who have truly made a difference. The commitment and devotion of these groups to their projects was impressive as well as creative. I was struck by a number of the groups who really needed additional resources -- and not necessarily money-- to get the jobs done. I thought it was unfortunate that a person had to choose to attend two out of six great sessions and that some were not repeated. I wished to attend at least four out the six easily. There should have been more room made for additional booths and time more time to visit them worked into the schedule.
