And I didn't mean to sound like I was scolding - just wanted to know if
folks enjoyed themselves and learned a lot...

Saturday's Neighborhood Environment Conference was held this past Saturday
morning with over 400 community activists, funders, politicians and city
staff in attendance from Minneapolis, St. Paul and the surrounding metro
area. Workshops were held after Introductory remarks on History of the
conference, the Urban Environment Coalition, the Mayor and Sustainability.
The Keynote Speaker was Rolf Nordstrom from the Mn. State Dept. of Planning
who served as staff to the Governor's Roundtable on Sustainable Development
from 1997-2000.
The six concurrent workshops:
Safe, Healthy and Efficient Buildings
Transportation Alternatives
Watershed Protection
Working for Win?Wins with Industry
Gardening/Urban Forestry/Urban Agriculture/Open Space
Solid Waste Reduction/Recycling

A fabulous lunch was cooked and served by Sisters Camelot who were called
on to prepare lots more food at the last minute due to the overwhelming
response of attendees.
I'll let others fill in the details of the different workshops and the
connections networking and sharing that occurred.
I was thoroughly impressed - but after all, I remember when I felt like I
was talking to a blank wall or many people thought I was crazy about this
environmental stuff. It was a treat to see so many people working to make
Minneapolis the great city that it is.
