Two weeks ago I left my night class at MCTC to walk to the bus stop at Nicollet, via
Loring Green. I skirted Loring Park and looked up to see crows--hundreds of
crows--sitting as silent as can be in the very tops of the trees in the Park. They
looked like pepper. I felt like Tippy (Hedren).

Not the least obesiance made I; not a moment stopped or stayed I.

As I walked up Loring Green I saw they were in the trees there too, across from the
hotel. They perched in the very tops of the trees and every once in a while one would
emit a menacing sound. "Grock," quoth the raven/crow (big enough to be ravens anyway)
and I knew they were looking at me. All one of them had to do was say "Get her!"
before they all swooped down and I would be dead meat. There had to be, no kidding,
300 crows above my head. I was petrified.

Is there something about that particular area that crows love? Has anyone seen this
crow behavior in the city before? It was new to me, and I didn't like it.

And my soul from those shadows that were floating o'er the Lor'
shall be lifted nevermore.
I have to walk home that way again in a few minutes.
