I don't think I've read or heard a decent explanation
as to why a hardworking public servant like Steve
Cramer wasn't retained as MCDA Executive Director. I
personally think he's done yeoman's (whoops, sorry
Council Member Zimmermann) yeoperson's work with the
job.

Why does the State Legislature have a seemingly better
view of St. Paul and it's projects than Mpls? Is this
a myth or has history borne this out?

Finally, Roseville resident Joe Soucheray joins a long
line of Pioneer Press columnists and reporters who
like to give pithy zingers on the Mpls/St. Paul
rivalry. Charley Walters, Katherine Lanpher, etc.
etc.
What's up with that? Is this written in their PiPress
contract somewhere? You know, make the city thats had
an historical inferiority complex feel better about
itself? This happens on MPR quite a bit as well.
Just curious, I personally don't think this side of
the river gives a rat's glutious maximus about the
city vs. city thing. Randy Kelly said recently that
he has put "Minneapolis on notice", that Minneapolis
businesses should glance their eyes on the nirvana
that is St. Paul and possibly relocate their. Can you
imagine the bitching that would ensue if Rybak made
such a claim? My image of Minneapolis/St. Paul is of
one city's desire to have the other notice and
recognize it's importance. More like a big
brother/little brother vibe than true twins.
