I'm sure I'm not the only one on this list who raised an eyebrow at Gary Schiff's comments about Ryback staff salaries in the Strib article and on MPR this morning (I was half asleep when they quoted Gary). How can the young councilmember comment on any other staff salary when he abstained last month on a vote about his own salary increase? Am I the only one who thinks this "shift" is a bit disingenuous? Then again this is the same councilmember who advocated endorsing Paul Ostrow for President by unanimous acclimation only to later "shift" his vote to Barb Johnson. I think Gary Schiff ought to work on building a bit more trust among his colleagues instead of grandstanding over a few grand of mayoral staff salaries. As Scott Benson noted, RT is making due with a lower overall budget than Sharon and I think how he divides the pie is his prerogative.
