I think the judge misses a bit on that statement. I'm pretty sure that a large chunk of the public was skeptical about the integrity of public officials long before this scandal broke (fairly or unfairly), but I do agree that prison time was warranted because this was a clear and direct abuse of power. Jana Metge writes: I want to say that in the 8 years I worked with Councilmember Herron, I have never met a more compassionate, dedicated individual with regard to young people and family needs. We were struggling with daily violence on the streets in the Central neighborhood and on many occassions I was out on the street with Councilmember Herron watching his earnest compassion and commitment to our youth and families. I think it is terribly unfortunate that Councilmember Herron got tied up with Mr. Sabri and I hope he gets his day in court to express his "side of the story and point of view". My thoughts and prayers are with Brian and personally wish he had to spend not one day in jail. I think he's paid the price - very, very highly.
