The first of two Precinct Caucus trainings will
be held at the Urban League on Penn and Plymouth
on Saturday, February 16th from 10am until 1pm.
Jackie Byers and I will do the training and our
speakers will be elected officials Rep. Neva
Walker, Rep. Greg Gray and Council members
Natalie Johnson Lee and Robert Lillegren. We
will break out into a smaller session for folks
that are interested in being Precinct Chairs. We
will discuss the roles, responsibilities and
opportunities as a precinct chair.

Our focus is going to be on those that
traditionally don't attend Precinct Caucuses and
we will relate this to the legislative session
and participatory democracy vs representative
democracy. There will be a portion on how to
write resolutions and why resolutions from
everyday people is so very important,
particularly now.

Please distribute this to the lists as you see
fit. There will be another training in a couple
weeks on the Southside of Minneapolis. I will
announce it as soon as I get the date confirmed
with the other trainer and the speakers.

This is training is not affiliated with any
party, no matter what your party leaning, is
invited to attend.

If folks want further information they can call
me at 612-724-2997.

Take care,

Matthea
