The Longfellow Community Council, a nonprofit neighborhood organization located in South Minneapolis, is seeking a highly motivated, team player to serve as Community Organizer. Primary responsibilities include coordinating implementation of LCC�s Environment & Transportation and Housing strategies, performing outreach, organizing community events, recruiting and training volunteers, fund-raising, and administrative duties. The organizer will collaborate with other staff on community development issues as well. The ideal candidate will have a four year degree in political science, urban studies, environmental studies or related field and have a minimum of two years related job experience. Additional qualifications include knowledge of local environmental issues, excellent oral and written communication skills, and a positive attitude! The ideal candidate will have a four year degree in public or business administration, political science, urban studies or related field. The candidate will also have a minimum of three years experience working for a neighborhood group, a nonprofit organization and/or city. Additional qualifications include supervisory experience, proven fundraising abilities, excellent oral and written communication skills, and demonstrated knowledge of accounting.
