I queried "acting interim" Library Director Jan Feye-Stukas regarding the interim
accessibility of the Minneapolis Collection, which is dear to some List members. Below
is a response from Central Library chief Susan Turtelle, posted with her permission:

We hope to make much of the Minneapolis Collection available during the
interim. However, they have about 120 file cabinets of newspaper clippings
from the Times Morgue and also many cabinets full of photographs which it
may be unrealistic to house in our interim location so that they can be
accessible to the public. We hope to make the most requested materials
available, and to provide staff access to materials that they might be able
to process during this time. Most of the rare materials from both Special
Collections and the Athenaeum will be stored in special climate-controlled
storage so that there is no damage to them.

In the next few months, Edward Kukla, who is the head of Special
Collections, will be making more specific decisions on disposition of the
various materials.

I hope this helps.
