Yes, Great Ideas RT!

I am an avid cross country skiier and would love to have more trails
promoted to skii on in Mpls and St. Paul. Here are some ideas
- Using the wirth park snow machines to create a 5 or 10 K classic and
skiing loop, even when we have poor snow. A lighted course helps too.
- Use a lower tech grooming method to have additional cross country skating
trails in other parts of the city- on the lakes and at Hiawatha golf course
etc.
- Host a public ski race at Wirth.

The Mississippi gorge stewards in Longfellow and Seward are concerned about
the errosion caused by mountain bikes along the river. Having one official
trail and using off road cyclists to do peer education to other off road
cyclists to use the official trail may work. The volunteer gorge stewards
from SNG and LCC could keep an eye on how the trail is working.

A third silent sport that has great potential in Mpls is kayaking the White
water park near down town.
